Filippo Mazzoni is graduated in History and Political Science at the University of Florence. Between 2002 and 2007, he has been Chairman of the District Council No. 1 of the town of Pistoia. He works with the Historical Institute of the Resistance and the contemporary in the province of Pistoia. He is author of The Federation Communist Liberation Pistoia from the "terrible" 1956 (CRT, 2003), he worked on the volume Pistoia between war and peace (Edit by M. Francini, ISRPt, 2005) and co-author with P.L. Guastini and G. Marcucci of The dawn of the Italian Constitution. The four constituents of Pistoia (2008). He has also published A story to remember. Historical reconstruction of the massacre on March 31 1944 in the Fortress of Santa Barbara (2008). On behalf of the University of Florence, the Superintendency archivist of the Tuscany Region, the Foundation Andrea Devoto, he recovered and reordered with S. Bartolini the Andrea Devoto Archive preserved at the Library of Social Sciences in Florence. Over the last few years, he has developed interest in the events that characterized Italy in the ‘70s and ‘80s, with particular reference to political violence, terrorism and the massacres. Compared to the latter topic he published the book The terrible fifteen years (1969-1984). The story of the massacre told the kids (Ibiskos Publisher, 2014). He is the author of several contributions in the magazine QF - Papers Farestoria quarterly magazine of the Historical Institute of the Resistance of Pistoia.
